Happy Un-birthday Party Concept
A very merry 'un-birthday' is from a song in Alice in Wonderland where they celebrate everyday of the year, as merrily as the day of your birthday.
Flowwa is all about sharing the joyful power of art-making to foster cross-cultural understanding and community connection. We don't want our Japanese cultural and traditional art to be just a show, just a demonstration you see at a festival. We want to share with you how the essence of Japanese mindful art practices can be easily incorporated into our everyday lives here and now, to achieve wellbeing, serenity, clarity, relaxation, rejuvenation and deep meaningful connections.
I grew up in Japan, where people hosted guests with Omotenashi, the Japanese hospitality concept of using mindfulness to get to know the guests with warmth, sincerity and genuine curiosity to connect heart to heart on individual basis. We greeted one another with Omotenashi all year around, not just for an occasion. This let me feel like every day was a unique and a precious day and everybody we met was unique and precious.
We will be sharing artful mindfulness activities that can bring joy and calm in our modern day lives.
This event welcomes everyone.
Bring all your friends and family!
Or come solo and make new friends here!
Activities
... and Origami paper-folding, Karuta japanese card game etc. etc.
We'll be adding more info about the activities both here and on our Instagram. Make sure to follow us on Insta and win free gifts!
